A Mother's Mission

Turimere was born from necessity during one of the most transformative times in my life—pregnancy. As a first-time mother-to-be, I was shocked to discover how many skincare products I'd been using contained ingredients that could potentially harm my unborn child. When pregnancy triggered melasma and hyperpigmentation on my once-clear skin, I faced an impossible choice: continue using effective products with questionable ingredients or sacrifice my skin health and appearance for my baby's safety.

The reality was stark—the skincare market is filled with ingredients that can be harmful to developing infants, and the problem only intensifies during nursing when babies have direct skin-to-skin contact with their mothers. I refused to believe that women should have to choose between their confidence and their children's wellbeing.

As a proud Latina-American, I drew inspiration from my heritage. Turmeric had long been a

 trusted ingredient in my culture for brightening and evening skin tone, but commercial turmeric products either stained everything yellow or contained the same questionable ingredients I was trying to avoid.

I began formulating my own products, combining the power of turmeric with pregnancy-safe, clinically-proven actives. The results weren't just good—they were transformative. Friends and family who tried my creations, many of them mothers themselves, kept asking where they could buy more.

Meet Carina, Founder

 

As a Latina-American with roots in Costa Rica and the United States, I bring a unique perspective to skincare that honors both traditional wisdom and modern science. When I couldn't find products that addressed my concerns about ingredient safety during pregnancy while still delivering results, I knew I had to create something new.

"The moment I became pregnant, my priorities shifted completely," I share. "Suddenly, everything that touched my body wasn't just about me anymore. I was shocked by how many 'safe' products actually contained ingredients that could potentially affect my baby's development. It felt like I was being told that my appearance didn't matter 

anymore—that sacrificing my skin was just another 'mom tax' I had to pay."

This revelation became my calling. I refused to accept that mothers should have to choose between their well-being and their children's safety. This determination drove me to create formulations that would allow women to feel beautiful and confident throughout their pregnancy and nursing journey, without a moment's worry about what might be absorbing into their bodies or transferring to their babies.
